Happy Halloween

What a Treat, A Halloween PoemWhat a Treat

Halloween is here with trick-or-treating tonight.
So I’ll tell you the story of a man named Dwight.

Dwight’s fondest wish was to give out some treats
that would be the best most brilliant on his street.

He would fill his bowl with all sorts of goodies galore
that would leave the children begging for more.

He went in search for them, the best he could find.
With the sweetest and sugary-est, surely he’d shine.

And with his bowl full of crunchies, he set his place near the door,
Set ready to welcome the trick-or-treating hoard.

First came one ghost, then a princess and such.
Seeing the bowl, they made such a fuss.

Until a vampire shouted from up the way
which made the children scurry away.

Apparently Mrs. Johnson from up the street
was giving out apples and Oh! what a treat!

Calling All Craft Bloggers

typewritergfairy005a I found something you may be interested in, that is, if you regularly write really good articles on crafty business topics.  You know, like photography tips, marketing, tutorials, etc.  Handmadeology is looking for blog posts to feature.  All you have to do is fill out and submit their easy form, and you can do it for as many posts as you want.  They will take a look, and if all goes well, your article will be viewed by tons of new people.  I just wish I had a decent post to submit.  Most of mine aren’t quite what they are looking for, but that’s the way I like it.

Going on a Picnic

I finally finished another short film with Kailey and Boris.  In this one, they go on a picnic and run into a little surprise.  It was fun to make, but there were a few problems.  Just the usual kind of thing.
Enjoy!

Also, I had a few more pieces of writing accepted on Associated Content, including this funny little Christmas-y thing.
The Twelve Bad Gifts of Christmas
Have fun.

My Favorite Sewing Tool?

Tribute to my Sewing Machine

My Favorite Sewing Tool? A Poem about My Sewing MachineTo my dear friend on the craft table, what can I say about you?

The way that dealing with the “tension” makes me wish I had somebody new.

Your too complicated when I don’t need you to be, and too simple when I need much more.

Exciting when your well running, but otherwise you’re such a bore.

You clam up when I least expect it and snap my every last thread,

but when I truly have had it up to here with you, you turn out to be a gem.

Update: For those who are curious, my sewing machine is the Brother LS 30.  Very basic, both in function and thankfully price, and still running after nearly 10 years.
