My Favorite Things: Conditioner

DSCI2964 (348x800)

Specifically, one of my favorite things is Alberto V05 conditioner, their shampoo isn’t too bad either.  What’s not to love?  They have so many different varieties with different scents and colors to choose from.  I am currently using their Herbal Escapes Free Me Freesia, but my favorites are their Moisture Milks Berries and Cream and Peaches and Cream.  They smell wonderful and are perfect for dry hair.

Another thing that’s great is the price.  You’re looking at $1 or less for a 15 oz. bottle of conditioner.  I frequently see it go on sale at CVS for 77 cents a bottle, usually with a limit of 10 bottles.  A couple of times I’ve seen the price drop as low as 66 cents, also at CVS pharmacy.  I tend to wait for those sales and stock up.  Why not? They are non-perishables that are fairly easy to store.  And conditioner is a good thing to have on hand.

Good uses for conditioner:

  • Shaving
  • Detangling doll hair
  • Detangling people hair
  • Fabric softener, mix it with water and vinegar first.
  • Removing makeup
  • Preventing rust
  • Dealing with head lice Surprised smile

How about you?  What’s your favorite conditioner?  Know any other uses for it?

My Favorite Things: Frozen Burritos

As stated in my last post, one of my goals is to appreciate the little things that make me happy.  In doing so, here is the first of a series of weekly posts about my favorite things.  First up…

Frozen Burritos!

Be it baked in the oven for about 30 minutes or nuked in the microwave (when I’m impatient) for 2 minutes, there’s nothing like biting into a nice warm burrito.  The flakey sometimes crispy tortilla, the gooey bean and cheese filing, and each bite blending the two into pure deliciousness.  I could live on them, and some days it seems like I do since they are perfect for those busy days.  They make a quick lunch or dinner, and there are great on the go for breakfast.  But most days I just pop a couple in the oven and eat them slowly, enjoying each bite.  Anyone else hungry?

7 Days a Week

One day this great idea just popped into my head, happens all the time.  I have tons of websites I’ve added to my favorites and they needed to be organized somehow, so why not organize them by the days of the week.

That is just what I did,  see here they are divided into folders for each day along with a folder for sites visited daily.  I put an “other” folder for ones I only visit once in a while, like the place I buy my multi-vitamins.

I also did the same thing with all my blog feeds, it works really well for these.  It helps me to regularly check for updates without being overwhelmed.  That is the point of organization, right?  Less fuss, less stress, and you keep your sanity too.
