Elf Watch 2025, Part 2

Continuing on from this post, here's more of the adventures of Elvie the Elf, the "Elf on a Shelf" that lives in the breakroom at work.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. Here's the elf decorating a little Christmas tree.
After climbing down from the tree, again, Elvie decided to rearrange the ornaments.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. An Elf, a banana, and an orange.
Here, Elvie is teaching the importance of eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Or, maybe she's trying to juggle them.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. The Elf on the Shelf is writing a letter to Santa that starts as "Dear Santa, I can explain."
Here she seems to be helping someone write a letter to Santa.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. Someone horrible added to words "I like being bad," to the Santa letter.
Later, another employee decided to help a little more.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. Elvie the Elf, wearing a paper hat while during a Napoleon pose.
The next day, we turned the letter into a hat instead. Now, Elvie can do her best impression of Napoleon.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. Elvie the Elf, stuck hanging from the hinge of a door.
Someone didn't like her Napoleon impression I guess, because they decided to hang her on the door frame, again.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. The elf sitting among a group of cute Christmas party goodie bags.
Now, it's Christmas Eve and she brought everyone goodie bags. Just kidding, a supervisor brought them. Elvie is just taking the credit.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. A table full of food for a party with an elf in the center. There's cupcakes, cookies, and a veggie tray.
Food's here, time for the holiday party to begin.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. A close up of Elvie the Elf reaching for some carrots on the party veggie tray.
Looks like Elvie will have a very Merry Christmas this year.

But then, tragedy struck.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 2. The mini Christmas tree. The familiar Elf on a Shelf doll is missing.
I had Christmas off this year, but when I came back the next day Elvie the elf was gone. No, she didn't fly back to the North Pole. She was Elf-napped.

Hopefully, one of the other employees accidently took her home and will return her soon.

Christmas Crafts: Quick and Pretty Poinsettia Ornament Tutorial, Just in Time for Christmas!

This post may contain affiliate links, please check out my disclosures page for more info.  Thanks!

Need a quick and lovely gift to bring to Christmas dinner or just because?

Try these Poinsettia Ornaments.

I made them a couple years ago as Christmas presents. They are beautiful and can be changed up easily depending on what supplies you have available.

Materials needed:
Most of the supplies I got at Dollar Tree from their Holiday Section. I actually got the idea for these ornaments by wandering through the aisles there.

First, remove the center and clip from a Poinsettia. Feel free to save the clip for another project.

Cut a piece of the "chain" of one of the necklaces with a bell. Glue just the ends to the center of the Poinsettia, so the bell hangs loose.

Cut a length of your thin ribbon/cord to make loop to hang the ornament. Then glue it to the back.

Cut a small circle of felt and glue on the back to make it look neater.

Now cut a piece of your festive ribbon about 5-6 inches long.  Sew and gather along the edge...

...To form a nice ribbon rossette.

If you need more help, please check out my lace rosette video tutorial

Then, just glue the rossette to the center to finish up the ornament. Alternatively you can use a large decorative button or gem.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1

This post may contain affiliate links, please check out our disclosures page for more info. Thanks!

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1
This is Elvie, my little "elf on a shelf". I found her at an local antique mall. She is from the Elves Behavin' Badly brand (you can buy them here on Amazon for a good price).

She has been staying in the breakroom at work for the last couple of holiday seasons. Here's a few of her adventures this year.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. Showing an elf doll climbing up a tiny Christmas tree.
First Elvie had a little fun climbing up my mini Christmas tree. It's one of the little trees from Dollar Tree. I couldn't resist getting one to decorate the breakroom.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. Here's an elf doll sitting on a shelf next to some video games.
When I got home that day, I was shocked to find that Elvie had teleported there, or so I thought. This is actually another elf that my mom got from a thrift store. Surprise.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. Here's a Christmas elf holding a sponge and sitting next to a can of Ajax scrub cleaner.
The next day, Elvie decided to do a little early "Spring Cleaning". She scrubs and does windows too!

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. Here's an elf doll literally hanging off the edge of a shelf.
Then, Elvie decided to she would rather just hang around.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. Here's an elf doll holding a large fork and ketchup packet whiling reaching for a straw.
Here, Elvie is getting ready to join me for lunch. She likes ketchup on her food.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. Now here's the same elf after falling down, dropping her ketchup packet and fork.
Unfortunately, another employee accidentally knocked her off the shelf. Luckily, she landed on a step stool.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. Here's a Christmas elf doll sitting inside the refrigerator door, holding the large size bottle of Coke.
Time to get something to drink from the refrigerator, and Elvie was one step ahead of me.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. An elf doll sitting next to a microwave oven.
Yay! The food in the microwave is ready. What are you cooking, Elvie?

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. An elf doll sitting in front of a box of plastic forks.
Now she's getting into the extra kitchen supplies.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. A Christmas elf doll trying to drink from a gallon sized water bottle.
When working hard all day, it's important to stay hydrated. But, I think a gallon sized bottle may be too large for an elf.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. The elf doll hanging from nail high on a wall. Too high to reach.
One day, when I finished my shift, I discovered that someone had helped Elvie climb up the wall. Great, except she was too high for me to reach, so how will she get down?

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. The elf on the wall with a note next to them.
This sign should do the trick.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. A closeup of the note on the wall by the elf. It says, "Help! I can't get down! Signed Elvie the Elf".
A handwritten S.O.S note from Elvie the elf.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. The elf doll is now back on top of the Christmas tree.
And it worked. A taller employee came and got her down and lowered her safely back to the top of the mini Christmas tree.

Elf Watch 2025, Part 1. A closeup of the cute Elf doll's face.
And hopefully, Elvie the elf will stay out of trouble for the rest of the holiday season. Or, at least for the rest of this week.
